On October 26, 2021, the Seventh Symposium between China and the CEE Countries “Navigating 16 + 1 through Turbulent Times of Change and Adaptation” was held through an online conference.
The Diplomatic Institute under the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria in cooperation with the Institute for European Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the academic network of 16 + 1 held online the Seventh highly representative Symposium of research institutes and analytical centers under the Initiative 16+1. The event is part of the list of activities approved for holding during the last Summit of the Initiative 16 + 1.
In his speech during the symposium, Dr. Momchil Stanishev, Director of APACCCEEC, stressed the important role of APACCCEEC for the successful positioning of Bulgaria in the 16 + 1 Initiative, by promoting and strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation between China and CEE countries in the fields of agriculture, food and forestry. Apart from that, he presented the priority initiatives and projects on which APACCCEEC will work in the future, among which is the holding of seminars and trainings for young entrepreneurs.
The Director of APACCCEEC paid special attention to the role of leadership skills, which are needed especially in times of crisis and change, noting the fact that with a visionary approach, any challenge of the time can be overcome. From another point of view, times of crisis can also be seen as a great opportunity for entrepreneurs in certain sectors who manage to adapt most quickly to change.
Dr. Stanishev expressed readiness for cooperation and dialogue of the APACCCEEC with the research institutes, academia and think tanks within the 16 + 1 Initiative, adding that he finds this type of partnerships and networks quite important in the turbulent times in which we are living.
