21.01.2019 / Bulgaria has experience and knowledge in the production of saffron
In addition to knowledge and experience, Bulgaria can be one of the main importes of saffron bulbs into China. It is well known that the crop thrives successfully on our territory and its popularity has increased significantly in recent years. According to the Chinese experts opinion the saffron cultivation could boost the competitiveness of Chinese agriculture and help raise the incomes of those engaged in its production.
In March this year, Bulgarian scientists from the Agricultural University of Plovdiv will meet with colleagues from Hangzhou University in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, PRC to lay the foundations for bilateral cooperation in the production of saffron.
With the leadership of the University of Zhejiang an agreement was reached a Forum to be held in May 2019. During the forum Chinese specialists will exchange ideas for cooperation and revival of the Bulgarian Sericulture (or silk farming)
