/ APACCCEEC took part in the DETROP-HELEXPO International Trade Fair in Thessaloniki

On 18-20 February 2023, the Association for the Promotion of Agricultural Cooperation between China and the Central and Eastern European Countries (APACCCEEC) participated in the “Detrop-Helexpo” International Trade Fair with its own stand which included five companies from the food and beverage sector, including producers of honey, wine, beer, and delicacies. Nearly 400 exhibitors took part in the exhibition and the participants were over 25 000.

The team of APACCCEEC was represented by the Director of the Association Dr. Momchil Stanishev, and the experts Mr. Venislav Emilov and Mr. Kaloyan Nenchev. Dozens of meetings were held with business representatives, industry associations, manufacturers and traders from the countries of the Central and Eastern Europe region within the framework of the exhibition. During the meetings Dr. Momchil Stanishev introduced the exhibitors to the activities and business opportunities provided by the Association. Future plans for cooperation on the organization and promotion of the project “Accelerator program for start-ups in the field of agriculture between China and Central and Eastern Europe countries” were discussed. The Program will be held between 27.03 and 01.04.2023 in Sofia Tech Park.

The representatives of APACCCEEC visited and explored the local food industry in parallel events such as Detrop Bites and the 12th International Culinary Competition. Professionals from the sector conducted tastings of products such as olive oil, pasta, string beans and others at these events. Food and beverage sector developments, consumer expectations, promotion of local industry, innovations in the field, as well as the presentation of good practices were discussed. Apart from that the meetings provided an opportunity to get acquainted with the specifics of local production in different countries. In addition to pavilions of different companies, countries and regions, Detrop-Helexpo offers a rich program, which includes presentations by leading experts and specialists in the fields of agriculture, academia and business. Their focus was on the future of food preparation technologies and products, as well as new possible trends in the sector. Culinary events are included every day in the program of the exhibition such as live demonstrations, product preparations and processing.
