The first of its kind tea business forum was held on June 23rd, 2023 at the Chinese Cultural Center in Sofia.
The event was organized by APACCCEEC together with the Embassy of People`s Republic of China and the Chinese Cultural Center in Sofia, as it gathered more than 30 entrepreneurs and tea enthusiasts from Bulgaria and China.
During the meeting, the members of the Chinese business delegation from Leshan City of Sichuan Province presented their unique products to the Bulgarian counterparts, tea traders and producers.
At present, there are 64 tea-producing countries in the world, more than 150 countries importing tea, and more than 3 billion people in more than 160 countries drinking tea.

In terms of trade, China is currently the largest exporter of tea to Bulgaria, and there have been efforts to improve the quality and safety of Chinese tea products sold on the Bulgarian market. To this end, Chinese tea producers have been working to comply with European Union regulations on food safety and quality, as well as promoting more sustainable and environmentally friendly production practices.
Among the goals of the forum was also the further development of agricultural and cultural cooperation between Chinese and companies from Central and Eastern Europe, as well as creating opportunities for new contacts and partnerships.
