The Chinese side informed due to the fact Yantian Port is a state-owned enterprise; they have the greatest advantage over all others in creating the so-called “green channel” for import. Yantian Port by acquiring a subsidy from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the PRC, $ 150 million in commercial transactions could be made by the end of 2018.

APAC is actively engaging with other stakeholders as well in the establishment and development of “16+1 e-Commerce Logistics Hub and Pavilion for Agricultural and other Products” in Chinese cities such as Xian, Chengdu and Hangzhou. The formal signing of the agreements could be during the Seventh Summit of the 16+1 Initiative.

Yantian Port Exhibition and Trade Center is developing a project for the establishment and the development of National Pavilions of the CEE countries and those countries included in One Belt, One Road Initiative. At present, Slovenia and Spain have set up their own national pavilions, currently making transactions worth more than EUR 10 million for goods from the agricultural sector.
During the meeting the delegates discussed the possibilities for cooperation and opening a common 16+1 Pavilion. Part of the concept of cooperation is that at least eight of the sixteen countries join the general pavilion. Yantian Port assumes the decoration, transportation, logistics and necessary overhead for the normal operation of the pavilion. APACCCEEC is expected to support the collection of samples and related documents. The concept of the pavilion is that the CEE countries send free of charge a sufficient number of samples for the organization of tastings and marketing events. The interested parties such as suppliers and users will be able to get acquainted with the offered agricultural products.

For the development and promotion of APAC’s “16+1 e-Commerce Logistics Hub and Pavilion for Agricultural and other Products” – Plovdiv, the Association took action at the end of 2017 by establishing cooperation with scientific centers and universities in the PRC. This is to support the subsequent upgrading and optimization of an online platform for consolidation of agricultural producers from China and the CEE countries www.16plus1cloud.org.
