On May 28, 2018, the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, Rumen Porodzanov, together with his Chinese counterpart, Han Changfu, opened the Shenzhen Cross-Border E-Commerce Association’s Contact Office, located at Trakia Economic Zone (TEZ), Plovdiv. The office will serve the “16+1 E-Commerce Logistics Hub and Pavilion for Agricultural and other products”. The platform allows e-commerce between China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the Western Balkans.
“The platform ensures connectivity between legal entities and governments. This is a fast, secure and convenient way to connect. We are giving manufacturers the opportunity to upload their products through the built-in B2B and B2C real-trade connectivity, “said Vasil Gelev, Executive Director of APACCCEEC. During the opening, the Chinese Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Han Changfu highlighted the quality of the Bulgarian wines. “Besides wine, Bulgaria could also import vines and grapes into China,” Han added.
“Bulgaria has great products and we are glad that they will have even better access to the Chinese market now,” said Roumen Porodzanov.
On November 24, 2017, the first “16+1 E-Commerce Logistics Hub and Pavilion for Agricultural and other products” – Bulgaria was opened in Trakia Economic Zone, Plovdiv. It will coordinate and promote the successful implementation of the project among the participants. On the territory of over 10 decares will be built a new infrastructure, including commercial and warehouse areas, as well as administrative premises for carrying out commercial operations.
Furthermore, APACCCEEC has been actively working for the development and expansion of multilateral cooperation in agriculture and feed in the 16+1 format through certain projects, platforms and initiatives.
During the Third Meeting of the China – Bulgaria Agricultural Cooperation Working Group, held on May 28 in Sofia, Bulgaria, the Chinese Party appreciated the Bulgarian Party’s special role in fostering multilateral cooperation in agriculture and food. The Third Meeting was co-chaired by Mr Han Changfu, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People’s Republic of China and Mr Rumen Porodzanov, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry of the Republic of Bulgaria. The Bulgarian Party expressed gratitude to the Chinese Party for the latter’s strong support in the establishment and subsequent operation of the APACCCEEC and commended the deployment of an agricultural diplomat in the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Bulgaria.
Both parties shared believes that the establishment of China-CEEC Agricultural Demonstration Zone is an effective measure to deepen China-CEEC agricultural cooperation, and have expressed their satisfaction over the progress of its development. The Parties as well believe that cross-border e-commerce is another great approach to promote the agricultural tread. The Parties are ready to support the joint China-CEEC agricultural logistics and exhibition centers with governments providing guidance and favorable policies. During the meeting the Chinese Party informed that it had set up a China-CEEC Exhibition Center for agricultural products in Yantian Port Bonded Zone in Shenzhen, and welcomes the display of agricultural products from Bulgaria.
