The team of the Association for the promotion of agricultural cooperation between China and the Central and Eastern European countries wishes all citizens and residents of Bulgaria Happy Liberation Day.

On this day, the Bulgarians celebrate the signing of the preliminary peace treaty in San Stefano (nowadays in Istanbul) that marks the end of the Russo-Turkish war of 1877-78 and the establishment of the Third Bulgaria state after 5 centuries of Ottoman rule.

The celebration of the 3 rd of March has started in the medieval capital of Bulgaria, Great Turnovo, in 1879 when Antim I, exarch of the Bulgarian Exarchate, serves a panihida or панихида (a memorial liturgical solemn service) in St. Mary church. Starting from 1888, the 3 rd of March is celebrated as the Day of the Liberation of Bulgaria from Ottoman rule, and in 1991 is declared as a national holiday.
