20.02.2025 / APACCCEEC participated in events in Plovdiv
On 18 February, APACCCEEC held another screening within its project ‘CineClub’ in the Demonstration Zone of Agricultural Cooperation between China and the CEE Countries at the Agricultural University – Plovdiv.
The two parts of the movie “Land of the Panda” were broadcast. The film is dedicated to one of China’s most recognizable symbols and focuses on the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, where a team of leading biology and zoology experts is working to preserve the endangered species by providing comfortable living conditions.
The film told the story of two giant pandas bred at the Chengdu Research Base and sent as a gift to the French ZooParc de Beauval, where they were greeted with excitement by visitors. Pandas have always enjoyed great interest in Europe and have been used by China as a diplomatic tool – historically, Beijing has sent pandas to Western countries as a gift of good relations.
The film screenings are held with the aim of familiarizing students, teachers and the wide audience in the city of Plovdiv with films on agricultural topics, wine production, cooking, including film productions from Bulgaria, China and the CEE countries. Those productions present to the audience the culture, traditions and nature of each country within the China-CEE Cooperation Initiative.
On the next day, 19 February, APACCCEEC experts visited the 33rd edition of the international agricultural exhibition AGRA 2025 and the parallel specialized exhibition for viticulture ‘Vinaria 2025’, which are taking place at the International Fair Plovdiv in the period 18 – 22 February. The exhibition is spread over 5 halls, with more than 400 participating companies from Bulgaria, Czechia, Poland, Greece, Romania, Italy and Turkey. A wide range of products are being displayed, including foods and beverages; machinery and equipment; varietal seeds; plant protection products. The exhibitors were introduced to the ongoing APACCCEEC activities and the opportunities for cooperation.
