/ Signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between APAC and the Bulgarian – Chinese Association for Business Development

On July 29, 2016 in Sofia, at the Association for the Promotion of Agricultural Cooperation between China and CEE countries held a meeting with representatives of the Bulgarian – Chinese Association for Business Development.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Vasil Grudev, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food, Mr. Vasil Gelev – Executive Director of the Association, Ms. Valentina Alexandrova – advisor to the Minister of Economy,  Mr. Plamen Penchev – founder of a Bulgarian-Chinese Association for business development, Mr. Angel Christozov – Chairman of the Bulgarian-Chinese Association for business development, Mrs. Vqra Pancheva – coordinator, Mrs. Katia Staykova – Director of public relations.

The occasion for the meeting was the formal signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Association and BCABD, which aims to achieve close cooperation between the institutions and ensuring – great successes through their unity.

“Formalizes the cooperation of the Association with the Bulgarian-Chinese Association business development will help to further promote bilateral and multilateral basis of business contacts and business cooperation between companies, organizations and associations from China and the CEE countries.”- said Mr. Gelev.

The parties also discussed the partnership in the short and long term. By the end of the year their joint initiatives will be reflected in the organization and conduct forums in Shenzhen and Plovdiv, respectively in September and October. Along with conducting forums, the parties will unite their efforts to promote one of the most – large-scale economic projects in Bulgaria – Trakia Economic Zone and the relationship between the cities Shenzhen and Plovdiv.

Shenzhen was the first special economic zone in China, established 33 years ago. The value of imports and exports was 537, 4 billion dollars. Shenzhen is the second largest port for containers in the world. The city is twinned with Plovdiv in 2014.
