The People’s Republic of China will host the Meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture of China and the CEE countries, at the third meeting of the Consultative Board of the Association for the Promotion of Agricultural Cooperation between China and the CEECs, the 11th Agro-Commercial and China-CEE Economic Cooperation Forum and the 14th China-CEE Agri-Business Forum (CATF).
Summits and forums will be held on November 5-6 in Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province, China. They are a very important platform for exchange of experience and cooperation in the field of agriculture. They play an active role in strengthening bilateral and multilateral relations and promoting pragmatic cooperation in the field of food trade and agro-technical cooperation between China and CEE.
The Agro-Trade and Economic Cooperation Forum between China and the CEECs has been running for 10 years. The Forum has become an important platform for agricultural exchange and cooperation between China and the CEECs and is included in the Suzhou Guidelines for Cooperation between China and the CEECs, which was signed in November 2015 by the Heads of these countries. Focusing on the theme “Innovation and green development, new opportunities for agricultural trade and investment cooperation”, this year’s forum aims to promote sustainable agricultural development and open up new prospects for agrarian-trade and economic cooperation between China and the countries from CEE.
A ministerial meeting was held in Warsaw in 2013. On it, the Chinese side announced measures to develop cooperation with CEE countries, including the provision of a $ 10 billion special credit facility for the implementation of joint projects in the field of infrastructure, high technology and environmentally friendly technologies, establishment of investment fund, encouragement of Chinese enterprises to create economic and technological zones in CEE countries, etc. In 2014, the meeting was held in Bucharest, and was accompanied by an economic forum attended by over 1000 representatives from the participating countries. In 2015, the Ministerial meeting was held in Sofia.
