/ Highlights from the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China

European Chamber President Jens Eskelund and Vice President (VP) Stefan Bernhart went on a three-day visit to Brussels from 8th to 10th October to meet with European stakeholders and present the Chamber’s recently released European Business in China Position Paper 2024/2025.

During their visit to Brussels Mr. Eskelund and Mr. Bernhart met with European External Action Service Secretary General Stefano Sannino, European Commission Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW) Director-General Kerstin Jorna, as well as European Round Table for Industry (ERT) Secretary General Anthony Gooch and representatives from economic think tanks. 

The European Business in China Position Paper (Position Paper) is the European Chamber’s most important publication and the cornerstone of its annual advocacy plan. The report details the challenges faced by European companies operating in China and provides constructive recommendations on how they can be resolved. We would like to remind our partners that as of January 2024, the Association for the Promotion of Agricultural Cooperation between China and the Central and Eastern European countries is officially a member of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China.

The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China was founded in 2000 by 51 companies sharing the common goal of representing different business sectors, part of which are companies from the EU Member States operating in China. The Chamber is a non-profit organization managed by its members, with a core structure consisting of 26 working groups (including working groups in agriculture, food and beverages, cosmetics, investment, environment, scientific research, etc. ) and 9 forums (including for SMEs, institutional, communication, etc.), which stand to represent European businesses in China.
