The official opening of the Forum took place in the Conference Hall of the International Fair Plovdiv on February 17, with the participation of Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Yanislav Yanchev. Dr. Yanchev emphasized that Bulgarian agriculture and wine production are competitive in the European Union. In recent years, many wineries with tasting rooms and accommodation facilities have been built, contributing to the establishment of this sector and wine tourism in the country. The Deputy Minister noted that Greece and Poland are among the main importers of Bulgarian wine, and Plovdiv and the region stand out as the most important centers of wine tourism in Bulgaria.

A number of relevant issues were discussed during the Forum, including Bulgaria’s participation in the European Wine Route, carbon-neutral and emission-free wine production, the role of tourism in the sustainable development of wine regions in Bulgaria, etc.

During their visit to Plovdiv, APACCCEEC team also attended the international agricultural exhibitions AGRA, Vinaria, and FOODTECH, which are held under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food at the International Fair Plovdiv from February 17 to 21, 2026. AGRA is a well-established exhibition with high professional reputation, presenting innovative solutions, modern technology, quality products, and professional services aimed at the sustainable development of agriculture. Vinaria focuses on the wine-growing and wine-making sector, providing opportunities for wine producers from Bulgaria and abroad to present their products and expand their network of business contacts and consumers.

Over 600 companies from 21 countries and 35 scientific institutes and universities are participating in this year’s editions of the AGRA, Vinaria, and FOODTECH international exhibitions in Plovdiv.
