APACCCEEC team, consisting of Dr. Momchil Stanishev, Director and Iva Venkova, Expert, participates in an international agricultural education and training seminar for the countries of the Belt and Road Initiative in the Chinese cities of Beijing and Nanjing.
The trainings are organized by the Administration and Management Institute to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China.
Within the framework of the seminar, an international training programme is organized and conducted for administrations and public organisations from the Belt and Road Initiative countries, with the aim of providing participants from the agricultural sector with practical skills, concerning new types of agribusiness, technology, rural management, agricultural economics, modern agricultural development, etc.
The programme is also covering topics such as: agricultural cooperation within the Belt and Road Initiative; an overview of farmer training in China, including the institutional framework and organisational management, as well as policies and measures in the process; agricultural skills training and rural labour transfer training.
Special focus during the trainings is also given on human resource development in rural areas; media, including agricultural radio and television; modernization of agriculture and rural areas with Chinese characteristics and China’s agricultural technology deployment system and policies.
In addition, the development of new types of agribusiness is explored – including the importance of those new types. A key part of the seminar is the exchange of ideas with local agricultural representatives as well as directors of enterprises in the sector.
The seminar continues with on-site visits to agricultural cooperatives and farms, a local radio and television school, and local farmers’ vocational schools.
