The Association for the Promotion of Agricultural Cooperation between China and the Central and Eastern European Countries received an invitation to join the briefing from the organizers, as detailed information about the Liaison for each of the CEE countries was published in the announcement of the event (https://china2ceec.org/ceec-quality-pavilion-on-pinduoduo-app/?lang=en).

In order to serve more companies from Central and Eastern Europe willing to enter the Chinese market through e-commerce, the Pavilion’s operator Jingbei Supply Chain presented the opportunities opening up  so that their products can easily reach the Chinese users of PINDUODUO.
If you have any questions or interest of how your products can be positioned on the Pinduoduo platform CEE Quality Pavilion, please contact luzhezhou@seabuy.com (Jingbei Supply Chain).

Pinduoduo Inc. (Chinese: 拼多多; Pinyin: Pīn duōduō) is the largest interactive e-commerce platform in China and in the world. It is the second-largest online marketplace in China by number of users and number of orders. It is also one of the world’s largest internet companies. It has pioneered several new trends including social e-commerce, team purchase and consumer-to-manufacturer (C2M) that have revolutionized online shopping in China. Pinduoduo ranks just behind Alibaba Group with close to 600 million users and recorded 1 trillion yuan in GMV in under five years. Getting to the same scale took Alibaba 10 years to achieve – “to understand the success of Pinduoduo is to understand the future of global e-commerce.”

As of Dec 31, 2019, Pinduoduo has generated over RMB 1 trillion gross merchandise value (GMV), 585.2 million active buyers in the last twelve months, 481.5 million average monthly active users in the 4th quarter of 2019, and an average daily order of 54 million parcels in 2019.

Pinduoduo charges 0% commission rate on the sales that take place on its platform. This reduces the upfront costs a merchant has to bear when setting up shop on its platform and has helped it expand its merchant base rapidly to reach 5.1 million merchants within 5 years of its founding.

Unlike JD.com, Pinduoduo does not own any logistics assets. It has however stated a goal of investing in logistics technology such as route planning and specific systems to improve the handling of fresh produce.
