The third day of the China International Import Expo, taking place between 5th until 10th November, in which the APACCCEEC participates with two pavilions – one with food and beverage products from 10 companies from CEE countries, and the other with 5 cosmetic companies and their cosmetic products, was filled with events, visits and bilateral meetings. The companies from the shared pavilions were able to connect with dozens of exhibitors, buyers and distributors, which helps to implement bilateral deals and makes it easier for companies to enter the Chinese market.

Dr. Momchil Stanishev, APACCCEEC Director and Mrs. Ivet Nikolova, Commercial Councellor at the Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Shanghai, participated in the parallel event “New Markets, New Cooperation and New Engines”, at which during an official ceremony speeches were delivered by representatives of the China International Import Expo, People’s Government of Shanghai Changning District, as well as representatives of large logistics company Orient International Holding. During the meeting, there was an overview of the activity of the exhibitors from the food industry, and innovative technologies were presented.

The APACCCEEC team also took part in a second parallel event entitled “University Startups World Cup Growth-Stage Global Final”, where startups from all over the world presented their innovative products and services in the form of a competition. During the event, each participant by regulation had 4 minutes to present its project, as an international jury assessed the participants and asked questions. Projects were presented in 3 different categories: “Health”, “Green Energy” and “Organic Products”. The APACCCEEC team exchanged valuable experience and useful information with the participants in the event in order to expand the scope of the “Accelerator Program for start-ups in the field of agriculture between China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe”. After the success of the pilot edition in 2023, APACCCEEC is preparing the second edition, which is to be held in April 2024.

In addition to the number of visitors, investors and buyers, the APACCCEEC pavilions were also visited by Mr. Ilin Dimitrov, Secretary to the President of the Republic of Bulgaria for Education, Culture and Tourism, who met with all exhibitors individually, wished them success in the big international exhibition and gave useful advice on building strategies for entering the Chinese market. Mr. Dimitrov discussed with Dr. Stanishev and Mrs. Nikolova the presentation of the companies from Bulgaria and the other countries of Central and Eastern Europe, and shared his expectations for future initiatives of this sort and expressed his willingness to assist in their implementation.

China International Import Expo will continue until November 10th, and is expected to provide opportunities for the realization of additional business meetings and enrichment of contact networks for the exhibitors.
