The high-efficiency modern agricultural demonstration zone is a new development mode of Chinese agriculture, and plays a very important role in promoting agricultural development. The “Demonstration Zone of Agricultural Cooperation between China and the CEE Countries” is a project for agricultural technology cooperation between China and the CEE countries.
During the 7th Summit of Heads of Governments of China and CEE Countries in July 2018 in Sofia, Bulgaria the “Demonstration Zone of Agricultural Cooperation between China and the CEE Countries” was officially launched by the Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and the Bulgarian Prime Minister Borisov.
Two “Demonstration Zone of Agricultural Cooperation between China and the CEE Countries” are currently being set up in Bulgaria, Plovdiv Province:
- In Parvomay district, run and managed by the Chinese company “Tianjin Farm Cultivation Group Company Bulgaria EOOD”;
- At the Agricultural University in Plovdiv, run and managed by the Association for the Promotion of Agricultural Cooperation between China and CEE Countries.
The modern high-efficiency agricultural demonstration zone has six aspects, namely, development orientation, functional composition, comprehensive planning, intelligent construction, standardized construction and construction innovation. The results show that these aspects are influenced by several factors or are built by several modules, and form a symbiotic network of the park.
The “Demonstration Zone of Agricultural Cooperation between China and the CEE Countries” is developing very successfully, with another 200 acres being included at the Agricultural University in Plovdiv in 2019, with an additional 17,000 acres in the Parvomay region, as part of which could be used by Chinese companies if necessary.
“Demonstration Center for E-Commerce with Agricultural and other Products” was officially opened on February 21, 2019 in the Agricultural University in Plovdiv city, Bulgaria.
The project initiated by the Association creates conditions for young people from China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe to develop e-commerce through the online platform for consolidation of agricultural and other producers from China and the CEE countries – www.16plus1cloud.org, which will be used as a digital product warehouse.
This is the first “Demonstration Center for E-Commerce with Agricultural and other Products” of its kind for supporting young entrepreneurs, whose program is intended to involve students from China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe to cooperate in concluding real business deals with each other. The aim is to increase the opportunities for promoting the bilateral – between China and CEE on one hand, and the multilateral cooperation – between the countries of Central and Eastern Europe themselves.
In March 2019, a tripartite agreement was signed between APACCCEEC, the Bulgarian National Association of Saffron and Organic Saffron Producers, and “Zhejiang Yangtian for Agriculture, Science and Technology Co. Ltd.” for a 3-year (2019 – 2021) plan for development of saffron in Bulgaria.
Currently, the Demonstration Zone of Agricultural Cooperation between China and the CEE Countries is being used for various forms of events, seminars and trainings in the field of agriculture, startups, and digitalization in the sector.
In addition, APACCCEEC has also launched film screenings to present films on agriculture, wine production and cooking from Bulgaria, China and CEE countries to the general public, students and teachers of the Agricultural University of Plovdiv, other universities and schools in the city. Those movies will introduce the audience to the culture and traditions of each country of the China-CEE Cooperation Initiative, as well as other countries.
