25.10.2023 / Ningbo delegation visited APACCCEEC: Dr. Stanishev signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the China-CEEC Expo Organizing Committee Office
On October 25th, a bilateral meeting with a delegation from Ningbo Municipal People’s Government took place at the office of APACCCEEC. The meeting was conducted with the cooperation of the China Cultural Center in Sofia.
The participants during the meeting, were as follows: Dr. Momchil Stanishev, Director of APACCCEEC; Mr. Hong Hai, Director of China Cultural Center in Sofia and representative of Ningbo Municipal People’s Government in Bulgaria; Mr. Zhang Ping, Chairman of the Standing Committee of Ningbo People’s Congress; Mr. Jiao Jian, Vice Secretary General of the Standing Committee of Ningbo People’s Congress and Director of the General Office; Mrs. Huang Liqin, Director General of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee of Ningbo People’s Congress; Mr. Jiao Shuanglin, Deputy Director-General of Foreign Affairs Office of Ningbo Municipal Government; Mr. Zhang Yadong, Director of Ningbo Central and Eastern Europe Expo and Cooperation Promotion Center; Mr. Ni Yanbo, Vice General Manager of Ningbo Zhoushan Port Co. Ltd.; Mrs. Gina Balareva, Project Coordinator at China Cultural Center in Sofia, and Mrs. Kalina Koeva, Expert at APACCCEEC.
The purpose of the Ningbo delegation’s visit consisted of creating new opportunities for trade cooperation between Bulgaria and China, specifically in food and beverages, cosmetics, and other relevant spheres. The agenda included a discussion between the two sides about agricultural and trade cooperation, and the potential for the development of bilateral relations in these fields. In addition, the Ningbo delegation expressed their interest in more extensive future participation of Bulgarian companies at permanent exhibitions in Ningbo.
During the discussion, Dr. Stanishev made an overview of the trade and economic relations between Bulgaria and China, as well as the accomplishments of the APACCCEEC and the Initiative for cooperation between China and CEEC, including this year’s activities and events. Dr Stanishev also paid special attention to the development of the APACCCEEC`s Liaison Office in Ningbo.
At the core of the bilateral meeting was signing a Memorandum of Cooperation between APACCCEEC and the China-CEEC Expo Organizing Committee Office. Among the main activities set out in the agreement were the following: mutual cooperation in the field of investments and trade between companies from Bulgaria and Ningbo city; establishing new contacts and enhancing the network of existing business contacts between CEE companies and the Municipality of Ningbo through participation in exhibitions, forums, symposiums and projects; supporting the activity of Bulgarian enterprises and trade projects in China, as well as the work of Ningbo enterprises in Bulgaria; assistance in the participation of Bulgarian and CEE companies in China – CEEC Expo, etc.
The delegation from Ningbo expressed their wish to continue their cooperation with APACCEEC and Bulgaria, and stated their agreement with the main points included in the Memorandum of Cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, both parties expressed their gratitude for their fruitful cooperation and conveyed their hope to increase the frequency of bilateral and multilateral meetings next year.
