The team of the Association for the promotion of agricultural cooperation between China and the Central and Eastern European countries wishes all citizens and residents of Greece Happy Independence Day!

The Greek Revolution  of 1821, that led to the liberation and the independence of the Greek nation and the establishment of Greek state, started on this day 202 years ago. The Greek Revolution ended more than 400 years of Ottoman rule. Even though the date of the Revolution was set on 25th of March, it erupted prematurely on the 21st of February  because the Ottoman authorities have discovered the plot of the Greek revolutionaries. The religiousness of the Greek people is well known across the world. Hence, it is not surprised that planned date, 25th of March, coincides with the Orthodox holiday Annunciation.
