/ First webinar on Bulgarian-Chinese Cooperation in Agriculture

On September 28th, a Webinar was held using the Zoom platform, which introduced interested parties from Bulgaria and China to the opportunities for partnership and trade in the agricultural sphere.

The webinar is organized by the APACCCEEC and partners from the China Association for the Promotion of International Cooperation in Agriculture (CAPIAC). The meeting was attended by representatives of the APACCCEEC, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Bulgaria, representatives of CAPIAC, bilateral chambers of commerce, branch organizations, representatives of the real sector and academia from Bulgaria and China.

The need for cooperation, mutual support, the exchange of good practices, knowledge and innovations, as well as the many opportunities for people employed in the agricultural sector, were mentioned by Dr. Momchil Stanishev as fundamental in Bulgarian-Chinese relations. Apart from this, common challenges in the sector increase the need for such partnerships

During the online meeting, the state of the Bulgarian agricultural sector was presented, as well as the needs of the Chinese market, the possibilities for bilateral trade in consumer goods and agricultural machinery.

Special emphasis was also placed on academic exchange, the implementation of successful projects in the field of scientific and research cooperation in agriculture between the two countries, as well as the prospects for deepening similar good practices between institutes and universities from Bulgaria and China.
