/ A business forum on the topic of cross-border e-commerce with China was held on 18 December

The meeting was organized by the Commerce Bureau at the Consulate General of Bulgaria in Shanghai and the Ningbo Center for CEEC Expo & Cooperation Promotion, with the assistance of APACCCEEC.

More than 15 Bulgarian companies were present online at the forum and were able to learn about the activities of logistics, trade and promotional companies from China. On the Chinese side, representatives of a number of organizations took part, such as: the Ningbo City Customs Bureau, Ningbo Liangjian Interentertainment Film & TV Culture Co., Ltd., Ningbo Free Trade Zone Ningshing Ubay Intel. Trade Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Louis Bentley Trading Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Enter-Co Technology Company Limited, Ningbo Dijia Vida Trading Co., Ltd. and Kingsa Culture Media Co., Ltd.

The main objective of the forum was to develop a model for importing Bulgarian goods into China and increasing trade between the two countries.

In the first part of the event, the official guests expressed their gratitude, emphasizing the important role of the APACCCEEC as a coordinator and mediator in the bilateral relations between Bulgaria and China. Special attention was paid to the more frequent visits to Bulgaria by Chinese business delegations, which has led to the signing of contracts and cooperation memorandums, as well as direct contact with local companies. As an example of the result of the cooperation, the Cooperation Agreement with the China-CEEC Expo Organizing Committee Office was mentioned, which was signed on October 25 at the office of the APACCCEEC during a bilateral meeting with a delegation from the Ningbo Municipal People’s Government.

Mr. Zhang Wenhu, a representative of Ningbo City Trade Bureau, reviewed the statistical data in the partnership and business promotion events between the two countries.

Mrs. Ivet Nikolova, Commercial Councellor at the Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Shanghai, congratulated the Bulgarian companies, stating that Bulgaria has great potential for development on the vast Chinese market. Mrs. Nikolova emphasized that meetings of this type will become regular and Bulgarian companies will receive institutional support in their activities in finding contacts, signing contracts, etc.

Ms. Deng Tianfan, a representative from Ningbo Customs, reviewed the progress observed in the customs procedures for the import of goods from Bulgaria in recent years.

In the second part of the forum, statistics on the achieved results in trade between the two countries were presented, with Chinese companies setting their priorities in the food industry and cosmetics in detail. They listed an assortment of products that are currently being sold and/or are sought after on the Chinese market, expressing a desire to work with Bulgarian companies in the future.
