June 14, 2018 – APACCCEEC with participation in The 1st 616 Global Cross-Border E-Commerce Carnival & The 3rd Shenzhen International Cross-Border E-Commerce Trade Expo, Shenzhen, PRC
On June 14, 2018, an official opening ceremony was held to launch the 1st 616 Global Cross-Border E-Commerce Carnival & The 3rd Shenzhen International Cross-Border E-Commerce Trade Expo). The event was organized by the Shenzhen Cross-Border E-Commerce Association, which on May 28, 2018, together with the Association for the Promotion of Agricultural Cooperation between China and the Central and Eastern European Countries opened a joint e-commerce office within the "16 + 1 Logistic hub and Pavilion for eCommerce with Agricultural and Other Products" - Plovdiv, Thrace Economic Zone.
After a brief introduction of the official guests, including Mr. Vasil Gelev, Executive Director of APACCCEEC, Mr. Anwar Al-Abdullah, King of Bahrain's Ambassador to China, Mr. Joris Salden, General Consul of Belgium in Guangzhou, Wang Wei, Deputy Mayor of Heyuan, and a permanent CCP member, Ms. Wang Xin, Executive Director Shenzhen Cross-Border E-Commerce Association and others, there was a ceremony for awarding the prize "The most dynamic cross-border city for e-commerce for 2018", which was awarded to the city of Plovdiv. The prize was awarded as a result of the diligent work of the CityPlus electronic platform for connecting cities, based in Shenzhen, employees of the Plovdiv Municipality, who kindly provided official information about the Seven Hills city and with the assistance of the Association for the Promotion of Agricultural Cooperation between China and the CEE Countries. The solemn plaque was received by Mr. Vassil Gelev.
The official opening ceremony of the First 616 Global Cross-Border Carnival for E-Commerce and the Third International Trade Expo continued with bilateral business meetings between the participants. An interest in the activities and projects of APACCCEEC has manifested many investors, owners of electronic platforms and logistics companies. The planned meeting with representatives of SF Express was also held in order to reach real arrangements to be completed within the forthcoming Seventh Meeting of the Heads of Government of China and the CEECs. Negotiations with SF representatives started during the previous visit of Mr. Vassil Gelev and his delegation in China, from 3 to 13 May 2018.
The meeting, held on June 14, was attended by Mr. Rick Liu, Executive Director of International Business at SF Express, Mr. Alex Wang, General Manager for Western Europe at SF Express, Mr. Maxim Khisamutdinov, Head of the Eastern Europe Branch at SF Express, Linda Xie, Business Development Director at the International Business Unit of SF Express.
The possibilities for providing logistic services for the project "16 + 1 Logistic hub and Pavilion for eCommerce with agricultural and other products" - Plovdiv, Thrace Economic Zone were discussed.
SF Express has more than 400,000 employees around the world and operates over 46 charter flights and has no presence in Europe yet. The company has over 1 billion customers in China and cooperates with most of the electronic platforms and payment systems in Asia. So far, the products they supply and distribute are mostly Chinese, from which they are also interested in participating in the project of the 16th Logistic Hub and the Pavilion for E-Commerce in Agricultural and Other Products - Plovdiv, Trakia Economic Zone, which would allow them to expand their business and markets.
Arrangements have been made to prepare a Joint Declaration and Memorandum of Understanding between APACCCEEC and SF Express to be formally signed at the 16+1 Business Forum, accompanying the forthcoming Seventh Meeting of Heads of Government of China and the CEECs from July 6-7, 2018.
